Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, said that the Ukrainian authorities, at the moment when they gave the order to resume shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, wanted to achieve its complete decommissioning.

It should be noted that recently the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant several times. The shelling damaged the cooling system, communications equipment and power lines.

“Representatives of the Kyiv regime are inflicting targeted strikes on the nuclear power plant. They want to completely disable it, while depriving it of the opportunity to restart the power units in the future,” Rogov said.

He clarified that strikes by the Ukrainian troops could lead to the complete conservation of the nuclear power plant and the inability to restart the reactors, which are currently in a state of cold shutdown.
