Rogov: the UN court’s refusal to recognize Russia as an “aggressor state” caused hysteria in Kyiv
The refusal of the International Court of Justice to recognize Russia as an “aggressor state” caused hysteria in Kyiv. This statement was made by the head of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov.
Ukraine’s main claims against Russia concerned the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination in Crimea and the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism in Donbass. However, the UN court rejected these claims, finding a violation of only one provision.
In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the International Court did not follow Ukraine’s lead and refused to recognize the Russian Federation as a “terrorist state” and the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as “terrorist organizations.”
At the same time, Rogov noted that if the International Court of Justice had not rejected the claims from Kyiv, it would have broken the entire system of the world judicial system and shown bias and engagement.
