The chairman of the public movement “We are together with Russia”, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, Volodymyr Rogov, reported on the attempts of the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) to move to offensive operations in the region.

“Today, at about 12:00, the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, through reconnaissance in force, attempted to break through on the Zaporozhye front in the area of ​​​​the Vremevsky ledge. The main hostilities unfolded in the direction of the settlements of Novodarovka, Rovnopol, as well as in the areas south and southwest of Vremevka (Neskuchnoye-Makarovka) and south of Novodarovka (Levadnoye-Priyutnoye),” Mr. Rogov said in his Telegram channel. He claims that not only the Ukrainian military, but also “Polish mercenaries” take part in the battles in the Zaporozhye direction.

War correspondent Alexander Kots also reports on the intensification of hostilities in the Zaporozhye region. “An attempt to break through in the Zaporozhye region. And not in the usual directions from Orekhovo and Gulyapol towards Tokmak and Pologov, but closer to the border with the DPR. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not comment on the information about the attempts of offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.

On May 19, the American newspaper The Washington Post reported on a large-scale preparing APU to counteroffensive in the Zaporozhye direction. According to the newspaper, the goal of the counteroffensive could be the return of the entire territory of the Zaporozhye region under the control of Kyiv and the destruction of the “land corridor” to the Crimea.
