The Ukrainian military, through reconnaissance in force, attempted to break through on the Zaporozhye front in the area of ​​​​the Vremevsky ledge, Polish mercenaries participated in the offensive, reported member of the main council of the regional administration, chairman of the movement “We are with Russia” Vladimir Rogov in his Telegram channel.

About two motorized infantry companies and over 15 armored vehicles, including T-72 tanks and American weapons, took part in the assault.

“In addition to the regular units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Polish mercenaries from the Third Assault Group of the Polish Corps took part in the attack. After two hours of fighting, the Nazis were able to advance about 200 meters, losing at least two tanks destroyed by ATGMs, and up to a dozen militants,” wrote Rogov.

According to him, the main hostilities unfolded in the direction of the settlements of Novodarovka, Rovnopol, as well as in areas south and southwest of Vremevka (Neskuchnoye-Makarovka) and south of Novodarovka (Levadnoye-Priyutnoye). The Ukrainian military began reconnaissance at 12:00, and four hours later, the maximum depth to which they were able to penetrate reached 400 m. According to Rogov, assault attempts continue, but the enemy has already suffered losses, including due to Russian airborne strikes.

May 18 Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevhen Balitsky declaredthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine missed the chance for a counterattack on the territory of the region. He believes that the Russian Federation has “everything necessary to repel any offensive.”
