The rock festival “Invasion”, which was planned from August 4 to 6 in the Kaluga region, has been postponed to 2024. The venue will also change. The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, explained that the decision was due to the initiative of local residents.
“The holding of the rock festival ”Invasion” in the Kaluga region caused a lot of discussion among the inhabitants of the region. On the one hand, we are becoming home to the country’s main musical event. On the other hand, in the course of the discussion, opinions were rightly voiced that now is not the time for ”Invasion”,” Mr. Shapsha explained in his Telegram channel. Where the festival will be held, the governor did not specify.
The Invasion Festival, founded by the Nashe Radio radio station, has been held since 1999. Rock bands from Russia and neighboring countries took part in it. Until 2004, it was held in Moscow and the Moscow region, then in the Tver region. Since 2019, the festival has not been held, it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The organizers announced the resumption of the event in April 2023. It was supposed to take place in the village of Mityaevo, Borovsky district, Kaluga region.
