Roskomnadzor prohibited search engines from providing links to Amazon Web Services and 10 other foreign hosting providers that did not fulfill their “landing” obligations. About it reported RKN press services.
Measures were also taken against Hetzner Online GmbH; Network Solutions, LLC; WPEngine, Inc.; HostGator.com, LLC; Ionos Inc.; DreamHost, LLC; GoDaddy.com LLC; Bluehost Inc.; Kamatera Inc.; DigitalOcean, LLC.
These companies did not register personal accounts on the Roskomnadzor website, did not post a feedback form for Russian citizens and organizations, and did not create an authorized representative office in Russia.
Until they comply with these conditions in full, search engines will inform users that these hosting providers are violating the requirements of Russian law.
The law “on the landing” of foreign IT companies was adopted in 2021. According to the law, in order to continue working in the Russian Federation, companies are required to create a branch, open a representative office or establish a Russian legal entity, as well as register a personal account on the Roskomnadzor website, post a feedback form on the website with users from Russia. In addition, foreign persons must limit access to information that violates Russian law.
