“RIA Novosti”: the qualified flight crew of the Ukrainian Air Force is almost destroyed

The Russian military actually eliminated the qualified flight personnel of the Ukrainian Air Force. About it informs agency “RIA Novosti” with reference to a military-diplomatic source.

“The entire somehow qualified flight crew of the former air forces of Ukraine – MiG-29, Su-27 and Su-25 aircraft – was actually eliminated by the effective actions of the Russian Aerospace Forces and air defense systems,” the agency quotes the words of the interlocutor.

According to the source, the loss of aviation is due to the fact that former cadets of the Kharkov Military Institute of the Ukrainian Air Force are involved in combat missions. He added that pilots are shot down, if not on the first, then on the second sortie.

The interlocutor stated that Western countries failed to recruit pilots of Soviet aircraft under contract in Poland and other Eastern European countries. He clarified that now the Pentagon is recruiting Afghan pilots to participate in the hostilities in Ukraine, who a year ago “fled to the United States along with the Americans.”

“Their training is starting now in California, after which it is planned to transfer everyone through Poland to Ukraine,” the source says. According to him, we are talking not only about former pilots, but also about other Afghans who served in special forces.

According to the Ministry of Defense on August 28, since the start of the special operation, 274 Ukrainian aircraft, 148 helicopters, and 1,826 drones have been destroyed.

Information that Afghan special forces are participating in the fighting in Ukraine appeared earlier. In mid-August about this declared Zamir Kabulov, Special Representative of the President of Russia for Afghanistan, Director of the Second Department of Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to him, the special forces are joining the armed formations in Ukraine.

At the same time, the diplomat pointed to the risks of getting to Ukraine about 100 planes and helicopters, on which the Afghan military fled to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan last year. According to him, it is important for Russia that this does not happen.
