“RIA Novosti”: in “Roskosmos” found a leak in the “Soyuz MS-22”

Roscosmos specialists were able to determine the exact location of the leak on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft docked to the International Space Station (ISS), reported RIA Novosti, citing a source.

“The exact location of the damage to the body of the instrument-aggregate compartment on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft has been established. The damage is located on the radiator of the cooling system near the solar battery checkout assembly. [фиксирует ее в определенном положении]”, – he said.

According to RIA Novosti, experts were able to determine the exact location of the leak using photos and video materials that were sent by members of the ISS crew.

December 15 Roscosmos informed about damage to the skin of the spacecraft, due to which the pressure in the cooling system dropped on the Soyuz MS-22. Later in the state corporation notedthat the damage could have been caused by a micrometeorite hitting the radiator. At Roskosmos emphasizedthat the temperature on the ship is within normal limits and is not critical, as indicated by the crew members themselves. Their lives are not in danger, the company said.

Due to this problem, canceled for the second time, Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin went into outer space, who were supposed to prepare the radiator for transfer by the ERA manipulator from the Rassvet module and install it on the Nauka module.

Initially, these works were to be carried out on November 25, but then the spacewalk was thwarted due to the detected abnormal operation of pumps in the cooling system of one of the spacesuits.
