Rhythmic gymnastics competitions “Volga Stars” started in Penza

On Saturday, December 23, a lot of people gathered at the Burtasy Sports Palace. There were athletes, coaches, judges and the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Penza Region Evgenia Bochkareva.
It was today in our city that the All-Russian rhythmic gymnastics competition “Volga Stars” began, dedicated to the memory of two-time Olympic champion Natalya Lavrova.
The competition was opened by the Minister of Sports of the Penza Region with a welcoming speech. Evgenia Bochkareva encouraged the athletes to win and wished them to believe in themselves.
The competition will take place until December 26. Athletes from 38 regions of Russia came to Penza to show their performances.
