The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) canceled the red card of the Serbian defender of CSKA Milan Gajic. He received it in the second round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Akhmat. The player will be able to take part in the next CSKA match.
The head of the RFU committee, Artur Grigoryants, told reporters about the decision. “As for Gayich, on Monday we received a letter from CSKA, sent it to the expert-judicial commission under the president of the RFU. We got the conclusion that Vladislav Bezborodov mistakenly removed Gayich, ”he said (quoted by TASS).
On July 30, CSKA defeated Akhmat on the road with a score of 3: 2. On the seventh minute added to the first half, the chief referee Bezborodov appointed a 11-meter kick to CSKA for Gayich’s foul. Goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev parried the shot, but the referee demanded that the penalty be retaken. Before the second kick, Bezborodov used the VAR video assistance system, after which he showed a red card to Gayich.
In the next round of the RPL, CSKA will play at home with Lokomotiv Moscow on August 5.
