Moscow manufacturer ISBC will begin supplying RFID products for microchipping rare animals that were conceived through in vitro fertilization and born from surrogate females. This method of breeding helps preserve rare breeds of dogs, as well as breed rescue dogs, guide dogs and search dogs.
“The capital’s manufacturer has been producing RFID tags for various areas of life for more than 10 years: from transport cards to livestock farming. The company was the first in the country to receive certification from relevant federal structures and the right to implement pilot projects for the registration and identification of animals,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. He added that RFID products manufactured in Moscow will be used in a completely new area of veterinary medicine. Namely, to identify animals born thanks to IVF and monitor their health. The manufacturer also produces syringes for hypodermic chipping. This project is being implemented jointly with the Treatment and Diagnostic Veterinary Center of the Moscow Veterinary Academy.
According to the general director of the company, Nikita Kozhemyakin, the company approves of the ambitious plans of colleagues from LDVC regarding the rescue of rare species of animals. The integration of microchipping allows for more effective monitoring of their health.
