Retirement discrimination
[ad_1]
Different retirement ages for men and women often outrage young men. High paying job search service SuperJob found out whether Muscovites consider it discrimination that men retire by age 5 years later than women. Economically active citizens from the city took part in the survey.
39% of Muscovites claim that the rights of men are infringed upon by retiring 5 years later than women. 50% of respondents do not consider such a fact to be discrimination.
Men almost twice as often as women called the 5-year difference in age at retirement discriminatory: 43% versus 20%, respectively. Most often, this opinion is shared by representatives of the stronger sex under 34 years old (52%): “Especially considering that our life expectancy is shorter than that of women”; “Since everyone is equal before the law, then in everything!”
It is curious that although the majority of women reject the opinion about age discrimination of men (“They have higher salaries and they spend less time, energy and health on the family”), young women under 34 are slightly more tolerant in matters of civil rights, of which 30 % – for the same retirement age for both sexes, while among women over 45 years old – only 19%.
