Retired judge of the Supreme Court dies in Moscow

Former judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Alexander Botin died on Thursday night in Moscow.
As it became known to MK, the 72-year-old lawyer died in his apartment on Seleznevskaya Street. Alexander Botin, originally from Severodvinsk, was an investigator, then a judge of the Moscow City Court. In the Supreme Court, he served in the Collegium for Criminal Cases, including considering cases of terrorists who attacked a school in Beslan in September 2004. Shortly before his resignation in 2020, he applied for the position of head of the disciplinary board of the Armed Forces, but did not receive support.
