Residents of Vologda took part in the VII Spartakiad of Russian pensioners

The final stage of the competition ended in Togliatti. More than five hundred pensioners from 73 regions of Russia participated in the final, and a team from the Donetsk People’s Republic also joined them.

Athletes competed in seven sports: athletics – a one-kilometer run and a combined relay race, 50-meter swimming, table tennis, chess, darts, volleyball and bullet shooting. Ten strongest sportsmen came from the Vologda Oblast, who showed the best results in the qualifying tournaments held from June to August. The trainings were serious, the results of the All-Russian competitions were impressive.

According to the results of the competition, the Vologda residents won first place in chess, and in the team standings, the “silver” heptathletes became seventh.

It should be noted that the event was organized by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the government of the Samara Region and the Union of Pensioners of Russia.
