Residents of Ukraine held rallies demanding the demobilization of the military

A few rallies took place in a number of Ukrainian cities, the participants of which demanded that the authorities demobilize military personnel who had already served 18 months, and also limit the period of mobilization to a similar period. reports Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua”.

According to his information, the pickets were mainly attended by women and children – relatives of mobilized soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Protests took place in Zhitomir, Odessa, Krivoy Rog, Khmelnitsky and Lvov.

“There are several dozen people at the rallies. They are holding posters in their hands demanding the demobilization of those who have been on the front line since the beginning of the war,” the publication writes in its Telegram channel.

Prior to this, residents of Ukraine submitted a petition to their President Vladimir Zelensky, which contained a request to demobilize the military after 18 months of service. Near the end of October, she received over the 25,000 votes needed to be considered. The petition also states that Ukrainian military personnel need rest to renew their strength, as they are exhausted both mentally and physically.

Recently, Western media have begun to write more often about the deterioration of Ukraine’s position in the special operation zone. In particular, The Wall Street Journal reported on November 12 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering significant losses, as a result of which the command is sending drone operators, tank crews, etc. to the front line. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are also faced with a shortage of ammunition and weapons in general.
