Unusual work made a splash in Runet
Residents of the village of Tumbotino, in the Pavlovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, decided to take a creative approach to solving a sore problem. The villagers are tired of asking officials to build a bridge. Every day, residents of Tumbotino have to wait for a ferry to get to work in the district center. During the flood period, the only road to the crossing is washed away and the journey turns into a quest that cannot be overcome without your own boat. Tired of writing letters, the villagers shot a funny and at the same time sad video based on the song from “The Adventures of Pinocchio”, which made a splash on the net.
For a long time, the authorities only shrugged their shoulders: there is no money to build a bridge, so wait until the water drains by itself. A few years ago, the residents of Tumbotino finally heard the promise, and it seems like the bridge began to be designed. But then things fizzled out. Tired of writing to official authorities, the villagers got together and shot a video – a cover of Pinocchio’s song from the famous Soviet film, rewriting the words of Yuri Entin.
23 people worked on the clip, they made four versions, of which they chose the best one. The project was being prepared for a whole year, the author of the idea, Alexander Kochutov, posted it on his page on the social network on the Village Day. A video to the music of Alexei Rybnikov from the famous Soviet film spontaneously spread over the network, just like a flood, which every spring becomes a big problem for the residents of Tumbotino.
Perhaps now the authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region will see this creativity and, finally, help the villagers. In the meantime, the residents of Tumbotino are happy that the work on the track has rallied all those involved. “If it weren’t for friendship, none of this would have happened,” wrote Alexander Kochutov, commenting on the video.
