Residents of the Murmansk region took part in the Spartakiad of Russian Pensioners

The team of the Murmansk region performed at the finals of the VIII Spartakiad of Russian Pensioners. It took place from September 27 to October 2 in St. Petersburg, the regional Ministry of Sports said.
The event was timed to coincide with the International Day of Older Persons, which is traditionally celebrated on October 1, and brought together athletes from 77 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
They had to compete in chess, table tennis, athletics, swimming, darts, combined relay races, shooting, as well as meeting the standards of the GTO complex.
Kola Polar Region took 56th place in the team championship.
“Thank you for being a worthy example for young people and finding the motivation to move forward.”the ministry added.
