Residents of the Moscow region won the international Spartakiad of pensioners

Pensioners from the Moscow region received medals of all merits at the VIII International Spartakiad of Pensioners. 77 teams from different regions of Russia, as well as athletes from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Finland took part in the competition. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports.
Men over 60 years of age and women over 55 years of age could participate in the competition. The Moscow region team included athletes from Kolomna, Shchelkovo, Zhukovsky, Dmitrov, Mytishchi, Orekhovo-Zuevo and Serpukhov.
Gennady Gmyra won the table tennis competition among men over 70 years old. Alexander Gorbatov became second in the chess tournament. In the tournament for passing the GTO standards, Nikolai Voloskov took third place among men. He fulfilled the standards of the 17th stage until he was 70 years old. The Moscow region team lost to their opponents the prize-winning place in the darts competition.
As a result, the Moscow region team became the best among the teams in the Central Federal District in the overall team competition. The Eighth International Spartakiad of Pensioners was held from October 27 to October 2 in St. Petersburg.
