Russian male tourists in Thailand are in great danger – this has been warned in recent days in Russian-language chats and blogs. The threat comes from local women, and now not from night butterflies, but from honest and seemingly modest Thai girls. The history of post-pandemic voyages of Russians to Thailand is still very short (only 3 months have passed since the resumption of direct flights from the Russian Federation), and has already acquired a fundamentally new phenomenon – Russian men are lured into traps by ordinary Thai women.

The influx of both tourists and relocators from the Russian Federation to Thai resorts is growing every day, and with it the stories of “insidious Thai women with fake smiles.” One of the Russian-speaking bloggers in Phuket has even stated that domestic men, instead of their former curiosity and attraction, are already disgusted with Thai girls. Like, they realized that for them they are just “purses with legs” and “objects for divorce.”

“They are sure that if you contact the farangs (foreigners – Auth.), they will provide them, – the blogger warns. – And when the tourist has already pecked, they try with all their might to lure out money. Methods for this use a variety of. Someone threatens foreigners, and unfortunately there are many such cases. Thai girls get in touch with a criminal gang to get money out of a Russian guy faster.”

Another Russian woman assures that ordinary Thais themselves confessed to her that they live “in huts on stilts and barely make ends meet”, and healthy foreign men, who go out in restaurants, buy expensive products in supermarkets, littering with money for renting apartments, cars, motorcycles, boats, etc., cause them an irresistible desire to “fork out” them. And their methods, according to the compatriot, are insidious, and in some places even frankly vile.

A Russian-speaking male blogger is in solidarity: “Taika will tell you about a difficult fate, a sick buffalo in her village, and about her dreams of going to university. Don’t believe! If you refuse her material support, she will threaten to commit suicide. Don’t be fooled by these tricks like you, she has a few more.”

This prompted me to look for those who themselves in recent history fell into the “trap with a smile.” Below are their warnings, backed up by personal experience, told on condition of anonymity.

“I can’t say that I had the goal of meeting a Thai woman,” says a Russian who has been living in Phuket for less than a month. “It’s just that a local girl in a surfer shop came up to me herself and started talking. I invited her to a cafe in the evening, went, everything is fine. I took her home in my car, I rent here, and there was an accident on the way. A bike with two Thais jumped out from somewhere right under my wheels.

I managed to avoid a collision. But they fell down and didn’t get up. My companion ran to them, they were muttering something in their own way. And then he says: they supposedly want to call the police and an ambulance. But we can persuade them to settle the matter amicably if you give them money.

And I was warned that the Thai police are always on the side of the Thais. In addition, I have Russian driving licenses, and now you can’t drive here with them – it’s already a fine. Well, we drank, of course, at dinner.

In general, the date cost me $ 500, which I had to give these on the bike. And then ours, who have been here for a long time, told me that this is a typical divorce, my taechka arranged with her friends.

The traps into which other domestic gentlemen fell into differ only in circumstances. A Russian from Koh Phangan, his new Thai acquaintance, “a good girl, studying at the university,” as she told about herself, took him to a local beach disco. And on the way, she asked to “buy something for fun” and took her to the “right place”. When the gullible gentleman handed over the money to the merchant, some local ran up to them and shouted: “Run, police!” The seller with the buyer’s money was immediately blown away by the wind, the Thai young lady, who wanted fun, also seemed to dissolve.

With the Russians on Koh Samui, the Thai treated more delicately: they just divorced them for a triple price in a restaurant. In the institution where she asked the Russian gentleman to take her, the menu was brought with the same prices, and the bill was set, multiplying it by three.

But most of all went to the Russian boyfriend in Khao Lak. A pretty Thai “student”, who happened to be nearby on the beach, herself asked for an invitation to “go somewhere”. And on a dark tropical evening, when a Russian escorted the “student” home to the wilderness indicated by her, by pure chance three local gop-stoppers hid there with axes for knocking down coconuts and a reminder that “Buddha wants bucha” (Bucha – in Thai reverence and respect – auth.) And precious in the conditions of non-working cash cards in an instant, no matter how it happened – like a Thai student.
