Residents of Shebekino resettled due to shelling will not pay rent until August 1

Residents of the border town of Shebekino and the nearby villages of Novaya Tavolzhanka and Arkhangelskoye will not receive rent until August 1. This was announced by the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov on his page in “In contact with”.

People who left their homes due to increased shelling from Ukraine have not been charged rent since the beginning of June. By the middle of the month, less than 3,000 people remained in the 40,000-strong city of Shebekino, the rest had gone to temporary accommodation centers or relatives. To date, according to the authorities, the city returned about 10% of the total population.

Mr. Gladkov hopes that by August 1, all residents will be able to return to their settlements. Due to massive shelling only in Shebekino, various damages got more than 700 private and 113 apartment buildings. Until the end of the year, the authorities plan to build houses for those whose homes were completely destroyed.

Also, the authorities accrue payments to those who left the Shebekinsky urban district due to shelling. According to the governor, yesterday, June 29, 3,000 people received 10,000 rubles each, and 30,000 people received 50,000 rubles each. Today, June 30, 10 thousand rubles each. 780 more people will receive, and 50 thousand rubles. 5 thousand people will be charged.
