Residents of new regions of the Russian Federation were allowed to be treated for free without a compulsory medical insurance policy

Citizens of Russia living in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, have the right to receive free treatment in any medical institutions in the country without a compulsory medical insurance policy (CHI). This was announced on Friday, August 25, in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
The department confirmed that residents of new regions can be treated free of charge, while they have not yet issued a compulsory medical insurance policy – the federal cabinet approved the relevant resolution.
This also applies to citizens of Ukraine who arrived on the territory of the Russian Federation and have not yet received a compulsory medical insurance policy.
New Russian regions continue to integrate into the Russian Federation and switch to all-Russian standards in various areas, including healthcare.
In July, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko said that more than two thousand public and private pharmacies were opened in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the work of which for the most part covers the needs of local residents. The Ministry of Health also focuses on for issuing licenses for feldsher-obstetric stations.
