Residents of Kislovodsk spent Athlete’s Day with Olympic champions

Athlete’s Day in Kislovodsk brought together Olympic champions, professional athletes, residents and guests of the resort.
About 1,000 people attended master classes, open trainings, games and tournaments, which were held at various venues in the city.
Football, tennis and table tennis, streetball, chess, cycling, rock climbing – this is an incomplete list of sports disciplines in which everyone could try themselves.
The holiday was opened by Olympic champions in figure skating Alexei Yagudin, Tatyana Totmyanina and Maxim Marinin. Russian figure skaters also took part in the ceremony honoring the best workers in physical culture and sports in Kislovodsk.
“We wanted as many people as possible to become interested in sports on Athlete’s Day. For this, many training grounds were organized, open training sessions were held with the participation of champions,” said the head of Kislovodsk Evgeny Moiseev.
The work of sports grounds will continue on the second day of the holiday. So, on Sunday, August 14, it will be possible to play darts and tennis on Lenin Avenue, and skyrunning competitions will be held in the vicinity of the city.
