Russia is preparing for the battle for Kherson. Martial law has been introduced in the region by Putin’s decree. Civilians from the right-bank part of the city are transported to the left bank of the Dnieper.

Employees of budgetary organizations – teachers, doctors, employees of the public sector – are also leaving. The reason is, among other things, the threat of flooding if the Armed Forces of Ukraine decide to destroy the Kakhovskaya HPP. “MK” learned about what a mass exodus of Kherson residents looks like.

“Dear residents! Evacuate immediately. There will be shelling of residential areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 7:00, buses from the River Port will go to the Left Bank, ”the Kherson region greeted the morning with such SMS. There is a collection point in the city.

Since there are a lot of people, the procedure goes without unnecessary fuss. The evacuated person is registered, he must remember his place on the bus and the time of boarding, and immediately after the command to leave, he must promptly load himself.

Leaving apartments are advised to de-energize, disconnect from water supply and gas, and also close all windows and entrance doors with locks before leaving.

There is a “hot line” for everyone who wants to, but it is not easy to get through to it. However, manuals have been sent to all social networks explaining what the evacuee should take with him.

Firstly, this is a passport and the most important documents – a policy, a military ID, a certificate, birth certificates. They are recommended to be packed in waterproof packaging. Secondly, money. It is better to have both cash and credit cards with you, because it is not known whether they will survive in the city during the hostilities. And, of course, a mobile phone for communication, a laptop, valuables.

Warm clothes will come in handy. It is better to stock up on food and water for a few days in advance, as well as medicines – just in case. To prevent personal belongings from being lost, as the hotline emphasizes, it is better to attach labels to bags and suitcases with your initials and phone number. Many residents remembered the old army method – to put a brand on their belongings. However, what is important – the weight of luggage should not exceed fifty kilograms.

For starters, people will be taken to the other side of the Dnieper, where temporary accommodation centers are organized, there is hot food and you can take a break. And then there is an opportunity to go to other regions of the Russian Federation, where Kherson residents are distributed to hotels, boarding houses, social institutions.

“Everything is in order, we arrived, placed in one of the rest houses in the Krasnodar Territory,” said one of the evacuated girls. “They settled in Anapa, in a sanatorium, everything is fine,” writes another. “There is a gradual evacuation of people, everything is planned, calm, everything is quiet,” says a young man, “Everything is organized through the school, my wife is a teacher. They called from the school to come to the collection point today.

There are those in Kherson who do not want to leave even with a clear threat. “This is our homeland, we were born here and we will endure everything. Everything will be fine,” people cheer each other on. “The other day I received a Russian passport, but I don’t want to leave,” pensioner Oksana shared her opinion with MK. “All my friends stay here.”
