Residents of Bilibino, where they sold eggs with passports, admitted that they ate

A week ago, residents of the city of Bilibino complained about the lack of eggs, which had to be bought with passports. And the cost of the product reached 800 rubles per dozen. Acting Governor of Chukotka ordered to rectify the situation. Bilibino residents told what is happening in the city after the promises of the acting head of the region.

The population of Bilibino is about 5.5 thousand people, it is considered the most expensive city in Russia. After the acting governor of Chukotka voiced the problem of egg shortages, the city was literally flooded with eggs. The first batch was 35 boxes – 12,600 eggs were sold at 160 rubles per dozen. The item was taken apart in 20 minutes. And again there were complaints: not everyone had enough.

Then another batch of the product was sent to Bilibino. This time the stock was increased to 190 boxes (68400 pieces). And again, buyers swept away almost all the goods. The next batch is scheduled for June 12th. They will bring 35 boxes (12600 eggs).

Vasily, a resident of Bilibino, spoke about the hype with eggs and described other problems.

– Now with the eggs everything has calmed down. They scored as much as they could and finally ate, – says Vasily. – It always happens in Bilibino. Sometimes there are no potatoes. Then they will bring it, and the queues line up, as during the collapse of the USSR. They will sweep away everything, then complain that there are not enough potatoes. Cheap goods are instantly dismantled, and expensive ones lie for months. Our prices are three times higher than on the mainland. This applies not only to products, but also to household chemicals and clothing. The prices for building materials are unrealistic. Therefore, many scored on the repair of houses. A salary of 100 thousand rubles is not enough for a family with children.

Previously, it was advantageous to order goods on the Internet. But now there is only one site that delivers products to Bilibino for free. The rest either do not work with our city, or the delivery is much more expensive than the order. The problem is that there is only one air carrier, which seems to charge 450 rubles per kilogram of delivery.

The average check in a grocery store comes out at least three thousand rubles, if you buy the most necessary things – bread, milk, cereals. We save on fruits, we don’t eat sausages. But I love chips, they cost from 250 rubles. A liter of “Cola” – 300-350 rubles. There is a list of subsidized products that sell for reasonable prices. There are few of them, it includes pasta, butter and others. But sweets, fruits and vegetables are not considered vital foods. Therefore, a kilogram of sugar costs 280 rubles for us, biscuits by weight from 850 rubles per kg, a small cake from 1200, fruits from 850. For three bananas I give 580 rubles, two oranges cost 400 rubles. A kilogram of fat – 750 rubles. Recently, a wholesale food store was opened in Bilibino, where you can buy ice cream for 400 rubles, but you need to take at least 5 pieces. In ordinary stores, ice cream costs 750 rubles. The cheapest horn for 150 rubles.

Even in Bilibino, services are expensive, because there are not enough specialists. For example, yesterday I paid 1000 rubles for a haircut. Waited in line for a week. The record is tight.

The whole point of our life is that here we save on everything, so that later we can fly away on vacation for three months and get drunk on a belly of fruits, sweets and other products.

I have plans to live in Bilibino for another five years, save up money and leave. Although everyone here thinks so, and as a result, they get stuck for 30 years.

A resident of Bilibino, Igor, admitted that he was tired of the topic of eggs: “The whole of Russia laughs at us because of these eggs. It would be better if people drew the governor’s attention to prices that have skyrocketed over the past year. If that year a trip to the store cost me 6-7 thousand rubles, now it is about 13-14 thousand.

Pevek, Russia’s northernmost city, also has problems with eggs, but they take the situation philosophically. Elena described what worries her more: “We don’t have such a hype for eggs. People are calmer. We are more concerned about the quality of the products, there are a lot of delays, since navigation delivers goods once a year.

The second trouble is that rusty water often runs from the taps. People have to buy water. But how to wash? I generally keep quiet about bright things. They turn yellow after a few washes. Can you imagine how washing machines and dishwashers deteriorate? Someone puts filters on the water, but they also need to be changed often and bought at inflated prices. Many people buy the necessary goods on vacation when they fly away from here to other cities. But postage prices are high. For example, I was recently in Nizhny Novgorod, from where I sent myself a parcel weighing 11.4 kg. Paid more than 7000 rubles. And the salaries we have in Pevek are laughable for chickens.”
