Representatives of Chukotka at the Russian Championship entered the top ten

On Tuesday, March 19, the team of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug entered the fight for the trophies of the Championship and Championship of Russia in northern all-around (6+). According to the results of the first day of performances, the district’s athletes entered the top ten in the triple jump, reports Chukotka news agency.
The district team included athletes from three municipalities. At the national championship, Chukotka is represented by Elizaveta Smirnova from Bilibino, Anita Kaetchay and Dmitry Bocharov from Egvekinot, Svetlana Shevkunova and Ekaterina Zheltova from Providence. All of them are candidates for master of sports in northern all-around.
“On March 19, we had our first discipline – a triple jump with a two-legged take-off. Three athletes entered the top ten and fulfilled the standards of a master of sports. Among men, Dmitry took seventh place, his result was 10 meters 98 cm. Anita became fifth among women, she jumped 8 meters 18 cm. Elizaveta’s result was 8 meters and 8 cm, she took eighth place,” commented the correspondent. News agency “Chukotka” representative of the national team Ivan Avtonov.
Today the best in stick running will be revealed. Women have to cover 2 km, and men one kilometer more. On March 21 and 22, the Northern all-around athletes will have to show themselves in throwing the tynzian for a trochee and an ax at a distance. On Saturday, March 23, the most resilient will be determined in sled jumping. The award ceremony for the winners and runners-up, as well as the closing ceremony of the competition, are planned for the same day.
The championship and championship of Russia in northern all-around events are held in the Krasnoyarsk sports complex “Raduga” and on Tatyshev Island. More than 180 participants from twelve regions of the country compete for the tournament trophies – Khanty-Mansiysk, Yamalo-Nenets, Chukotka and Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, the Komi and Sakha (Yakutia) Republics, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk and Kamchatka Territories, Tyumen, Magadan and Sakhalin Regions.
