Repair of the Melitopol-Dzhankoy highway is planned to be completed by November 30

The repair of two sections of the Melitopol-Dzhankoy highway connecting the Zaporozhye region and Crimea is planned to be completed by November 30. This was announced by the Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region Evgeny Balitsky. A total of 40 km of the road will be repaired.
“We are monitoring the progress of repair work on the Melitopol-Dzhankoy highway on a daily basis. This is a very important transport artery – it connects us with the Crimea. Repairs are underway on two sections of the route at once in order to bring the road into proper condition as soon as possible. The work is being carried out around the clock, we are ahead of schedule, we plan to finish it by November 30, ”wrote Mr. Balitsky in his Telegram channel.
According to him, six units of special equipment and a team of eight people are involved at the Melitopol-Dzhankoy facility. At the same time, the old roadway is being milled on the Melitopol bypass and the shoulders are being strengthened to improve the throughput of the route, the governor added. There are involved 40 units of special equipment and about 70 workers.
It was planned to start repairing the Melitopol-Dzhankoy highway in 2023. However, according to Yevgeny Balitsky, it is “in a very worn condition.” Therefore, it was decided to start work this year.
Zaporozhye region, as well as Kherson region, DPR and LPR became part of Russia on September 30. Martial law has been introduced in the regions at the moment.
