Repair of school No. 4 in Vladikavkaz: a fairy tale story

At school No. 4 in the capital of North Ossetia, the city of Vladikavkaz, every square centimeter of the area was repaired in a short time, ahead of schedule and without loss of quality.

“This is really a fabulous story that happened to us,” the director of the educational institution, Soslan Tsutsiev, does not hide his emotions about the overhaul.

For 55 years, this school, built according to a standard project in the mid-60s, has not been repaired even once. There was not even a cosmetic repair here: the rooms where the children study were periodically “patched” by the teachers themselves and the parents of schoolchildren.

“The repair was planned in two stages, with the transition to the next year. But the contractor went to meet us halfway and accelerated, without relieving himself of his obligations in terms of quality,” Tsutsiev said.

The purchase of finishing materials came at a time of a sharp increase in prices, however, as the management of the educational institution notes, “for repairs, they purchased all the best on the market that meets the standards.” The contractor provides a seven-year warranty for the overhaul.

“Today it is a building of the 21st century that fully meets all standards,” says the director of school No. 4 in Vladikavkaz.

For four months (although there were eight according to the plan), the maximum number of construction teams worked at the facility with an area of ​​​​almost five thousand square meters. As a result, by September, absolutely everything had been changed here, including communications, except for the roof, which was urgently replaced six months earlier: the old roof was damaged by a hurricane wind.

Restoration work was carried out, among other things, on the facade and inside the building, where water from leaking pipes had already begun to wash out the load-bearing walls.

The contractor even restored a plaque and a bust of the Russian revolutionary Sergei Kirov on the facade, whose name this school in Vladikavkaz used to bear.

“It is important for us that after the overhaul, the spirit of the school building, whose graduates call themselves “Kirovtsy,” has been preserved. We respect our history,” Tsutsiev concluded.
