Renovation of a sports school for checkers and chess has started in Bryansk

In the spring of 2024, the main building of the sports school for chess and checkers will appear in an updated form on Malo-Zavalskaya Street in Bryansk. It is currently undergoing major renovations. A large-scale work took place over an area exceeding 300 square meters.
4.5 million rubles are allocated for improvement, the press service of the city administration reported. Builders will have to completely replace the flooring, electrical, heating system and plumbing. The room is located on the ground floor, so special attention will be paid to ventilation.
According to the director of the sports school, Valery Tereshchenko, after major renovations, it will be possible to organize competitions at the all-Russian level in the halls. The room can simultaneously accommodate up to 100 young chess and drafts players.
It should be added that the school is now based on four sites in the Sovetsky and Bezhitsky districts of the regional center. Thousands of children are addicted to intellectual games. The most famous student of the Bryansk school is the world vice-champion, grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi.
