If the patient needs to transfer something, then this can be done by leaving the package at the guard post, ”the message explains the head physician of the clinic, Sergei Timofeev.
In case of detection of SARS or influenza, the sick person is isolated in a separate ward, and after the diagnosis is established, he is transferred to the infectious diseases department. Those who came into contact with him, including employees of the institution, receive post-exposure prophylaxis. Enhanced mask control.
The outbreak is characterized as epidemic. In the past few weeks, the number of flu cases in Kolyma has been on the rise. The head physician notes the growth of children’s morbidity. “Every day we hold conferences with branches of the children’s hospital in the districts, discuss issues of helping children. The situation in the city is serious, up to 300 sick children are registered a day,”— said Mr Timofeev.
In the intensive care unit of the infectious diseases department of the regional hospital, there are five people connected to a ventilator; cases of influenza pneumonia. Planned hospitalization has not been canceled, with the exception of the geriatric department.
According to the forecast of the regional Ministry of Health, the increase in the incidence will continue for at least another two weeks, after which a gradual decline will begin.
