In Gelendzhik, the Krasnodar Territory boxing championship among boys aged 13-14 has come to an end. The competition was dedicated to the memory of the USSR Master of Sports Viktor Baranenko.
250 boxers from 34 regions of the region took part in the competition. They competed in 11 weight categories. In addition, the tournament was a qualifying stage for the Southern Federal District championship.
Krasnodar boxers took first place in the team competition. Executive Director of the Boxing Federation of the Krasnodar Territory Roman Rostovtsev took part in the opening and awarding ceremonies.
According to the vice-governor of Kuban, Alexander Vlasov, boxing is one of the most popular sports. More than 25.5 thousand people are engaged in it.
