At the station “Begovaya” of the Belarusian direction of the Moscow Railway, work began on a large-scale reconstruction. In this regard, electric trains and aeroexpress trains will now stop 100 meters from the station, at temporary wooden platforms.
The Begovaya metro station can be reached from the temporary platforms via an overhead pedestrian bridge.
“Temporary passenger infrastructure – two coastal platforms and a pedestrian bridge – were erected for the period of reconstruction of the Begovaya station,” the press service of the Moscow Railways said in a statement.
So for passengers with limited mobility, Begovaya became inconvenient for a transfer for some time, and it is better for them to use other transfer stations, which are quite a few on MCD-1. The closest of them are Belorusskaya, Testovskaya and Fili.
After the reconstruction, Begovaya will become a transfer hub, MCD-1 and MCD-4 trains will stop here, and a convenient transfer to the metro or ground transport will appear. The builders will erect three new platforms and a concourse, the transport hub will be equipped with escalators and elevators.
“In addition, two additional main tracks will be laid to allow MCD-4 trains to pass in the Begovaya area, to which a new connecting branch will be connected between the Kyiv and Belorussian directions,” the MZD said.
It is not yet known how long the reconstruction will take. But since the city authorities announced the launch of the MCD-4 next year, it can be assumed that the work on Begovaya will last no more than 12 months.
