Reconstruction according to plan: in 1,384 schools the overhaul has been completely completed

United Russia and the Ministry of Education summed up the preliminary results of the program for updating educational institutions

More than half of the regions in 2023 fulfilled the plan for the school overhaul program, which United Russia is implementing together with the Ministry of Education, by more than 90% or in full, said Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrei Turchak. According to him, major repairs have been completed in 1,384 schools, and 1,765 are planned to be completed by the end of the year.

In 2023, it is planned to complete major renovations of 1,765 school buildings. Of these, 1,535 are buildings with the participation of the federal budget and 230 buildings are being repaired only at the expense of regional funds, the Secretary of the General Council noted at the All-Russian headquarters for the overhaul of schools.

“I’ll name the excellent students. These are the Vologda, Magadan, Murmansk, Saratov, Sakhalin regions, the republics of Adygea, Ingushetia, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Tyva, the Chechen Republic, and St. Petersburg.

All repairs planned for this year in these regions have been completed. I thank the governors and regional teams for a worthy result. In another 46 regions, the readiness of facilities is more than 90%. There is no doubt that the work will be completed by the end of the year. I would like to thank the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Construction, governors, builders and all our colleagues in the regions who are responsible for this important program,” said Andrei Turchak.

In turn, Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov drew attention to the high rate of overhaul of schools in the Belgorod and Lipetsk regions. Both regions, with advanced funding, have completed work on the facilities for the two-year cycle 2024-2025.

“The Belgorod region is a difficult environment, a border region. Despite this, everything is in the “green zone” – both major repairs and national projects,” the minister said.

He recalled that in total, more than 3 thousand buildings have already been repaired under the overhaul program since its inception.

The main reason for the clear work of a number of regions in this area is a balanced budget through participation in relevant federal programs, competent planning, control over the implementation of the programs themselves and the correct selection of contractors, says economist Pavel Penkin.

“It is important that such events are provided with co-financing from all three levels of the budget: federal, regional and local; accordingly, allowing a failure at any of them is the same as missing deadlines and violating obligations,” he notes. “Most of the regions have learned to work harmoniously.”

Let us remind you that the school overhaul program, which United Russia is implementing together with the Ministry of Education, is included in the party’s people’s program and was initiated by the president in 2021. Almost 7,300 schools participate in it.
