Recommendatory mask mode is returned in six regions of Russia

Against the backdrop of an increase in the daily increase in cases of COVID-19 in Russia, in some regions of the country, the advisory mask regime was returned. Now it operates in Tatarstan, Dagestan, Gorny Altai, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Novosibirsk and Vologda regions.

The incidence rate in the regions according to the operational headquarters:

• Tatarstan – 97 per day (total – 155,083)
• Dagestan – 127 (95 197)
• Gorny Altai — 80 (36,035)
• Krasnoyarsk Territory – 613 (373 516)
• Novosibirsk region – 249 (264 285)
• Vologda region – 110 (194 682)

Today, August 17, revealed 33,106 cases of coronavirus infection – 38.4% more than the day before. This is the highest daily incidence rate since March 20.

Last week, the level of herd immunity to coronavirus infection decreased up to 7.4%. Rospotrebnadzor recommended return the mask mode in regions with a high incidence. The vast majority of cases of infection are observed in Moscow and St. Petersburg. At the beginning of August, the department declaredthat there is no need to introduce epidemiological restrictions, but urged vulnerable populations to wear a mask in public places.
