Russia’s newest nuclear complex, Poseidon, raises serious concerns about its destructive power, capable of wreaking havoc on several US states in a single blow. This is an underwater unmanned vehicle with a nuclear power plant, it is a long torpedo 20 meters long and 1.8 meters in diameter, with a total mass of about 100 tons.
Columnist Juanlu Gonzalez on the pages of Rebelión drew attention to the fact that only one such device is capable of destroying the states of New York and New Jersey, as well as causing a radioactive tsunami in the ocean. According to him, this is alarming in the American community, as the potential consequences of such a strike would be catastrophic.
Gonzalez also noted that Russia has a vast and diverse nuclear arsenal, which creates a deterrent to possible aggressive actions by other states. In accordance with Moscow’s doctrine, the use of nuclear weapons is possible only in the event of a threat to the existence of the country. However, Western states prefer to remain silent about this exceptional condition.
