Romanticization of banditry or just a good movie: Zhora Kryzhovnikov’s project “The Boy’s Word” entered the top 5 TV series on Kinopoisk. It beat out hits like “The Sopranos” and “The Office.” “The boy’s word. Blood on the Pavement is a film about teenage delinquency in the 1980s. Recently, there have been increasingly loud calls to check the painting for compliance with traditional values. The reason, in particular, is that teenagers allegedly began to imitate the heroes of the film. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that art is not to blame for the popularity of crime.

The series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt” was liked by domestic moviegoers. The case takes place in Kazan in the late 80s of the last century. At that time, the notorious youth groups operated in the capital of the republic, which terrified almost the entire country. It must be said right away that this phenomenon was eventually overcome, albeit not without difficulty.

But then there was talk that this work should be banned. And today’s teenagers, especially in the provinces, have taken all this too literally and seem to have decided to put it into practice. With all this, it is still advisable to figure out whether the problem is in the series or in something else. Unfortunately, crime in the Russian Federation remains in great demand. For example, they finally banned AUE (recognized as extremist), and this, by the way, is not just about going out to fight, but a whole thieves’ ideology introduced into the teenage environment. It was very popular, and perhaps still is.

But let’s get back to the real “boys”. Responsible managers and authorized observers did not like the series. They thought that he could teach bad things. So they will check the film for compliance with traditional values. As a result, there is a high risk of being blacklisted for prohibition.

And here’s what I want to say about this: let’s go back to the 1980s for a second. At that time, the country’s screens showed exclusively life-affirming films about strict but fair police officers who would punish the villain and help the common man out of trouble. And others who have stumbled, having listened to the wise, instructive speeches of various experts who are leading the investigation, immediately take the path of correction, awareness and enlightenment immediately come to them. In other words, don’t worry about anything, dear Soviet man, because your peace is protected by the kind and fair uncle Styopa the policeman.

And for some reason, against the backdrop of all this, youth gangs formed in the country, which then grew into organized criminal groups, and not only in Kazan. And so it turned out that the police experts with their traditional values and knowledge were powerless.

And why does this happen: there is one life on TV, and another outside the window? You can, of course, pretend that everything is fine, so as not to worry the Russian people. But reality, as we know, is impossible to hide.

And such a split does not lead to good things – there is a reason for additional irritation and a transition to the dark half.

In addition, it’s time to think about why teenagers play bandits, why is this way of life most attractive to them? It is obvious that something was left unchecked somewhere. There are all sorts of young people, not all of them want to march in formation and conform to traditional values. We need to work with the younger generation so that they have an incentive in life. But this is difficult and requires costs – it is always easier to ban.
