Readiness No. 1: Ovchinsky told how many Easter cakes the capital’s bakers made

Almost two million Easter cakes were made in Moscow for Easter. Large confectionery and bakery plants baked about 680 tons of products.

“Every year, the city’s bakeries begin preparations for large-scale production of Easter cakes in advance. This year, two large metropolitan confectionery and bakery plants baked about 1.9 million Easter cakes and cakes for the holiday – more than 679 tons of products,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department.

He added that city manufacturers produce a wide range of such products. However, some use alternative gluten-free ingredients. Ovchinsky stressed that the capital’s Easter products are presented both in Moscow and in neighboring regions.

So, the bakery and confectionery holding “Kolomensky” baked more than 937 thousand Easter cakes (more than 330 tons), and the Moscow bakery plant “Cheryomushki” – more than 913 thousand Easter cakes (349 tons). It should be noted that this year the latter produced 11 types of Easter goods: not only traditional Easter cakes, but also muffins, including those with cottage cheese or carrot filling. Chocolate factories have also joined. For example, French Kiss prepared 140 kg of painted gingerbread and 4 tons of chocolate eggs and gift sets for the holiday.

Recall that 70 enterprises produce bread and bakery products in Moscow.
