The Russian Defense Ministry has developed a bill that proposes to change the system of payments to the military, said RBC with a link to the document. According to the publication, the department wants to reduce the list of banks on the accounts in which the military will be able to receive payments. The document was approved at a meeting of the government commission on legislative activities, the source said. Now the military can receive allowances in almost 80 banks.

According to the bill, the Ministry of Defense proposes to allow payments to the military only to field institutions of the Central Bank and credit organizations, the list of which will be approved by the government. The new system of payments will concern monetary allowances, wages and other payments to military, federal civil servants and employees of the Russian army.

The bill was submitted to the government by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The document was also coordinated with the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance, conclusions on it were issued by the Ministry of Justice, the Accounts Chamber and the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Russian government.
