RBC: Russians issued 471,000 international passports in October

In October 2022, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs issued 471,000 foreign passports, which is 48,000 more than in September. In just ten months, Russians received 4.35 million foreign passports. Writes about it RBC with reference to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the migration situation.
RBC notes an increase in the number of foreign passports in October this year compared to years earlier. In October 2021, Russians received 355 thousand foreign passports, in September of the same year – 400 thousand, in October 2019 – 366 thousand, in September – 383 thousand. Usually, the number of applications for issuing such documents falls after the summer holidays.
At the same time, October did not become the leader in terms of the number of issued international passports in 2022. Russians received the most such documents in March — 533,000. This month saw the strongest increase in the number of completed documents — 36% more than in February.
At the same time, the number of international passports issued from January to October 2022 is more than in the same periods of 2020 and 2021. However, as RBC notes, this may be due to restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
