RBC: Russian channels bought the rights to broadcast the World Cup for $39 million

VGTRK, Match TV and Pervy bought the rights to broadcast the World Cup in Qatar from the International Football Federation (FIFA) for $39 million, reports RBC with reference to sources. The channels will pay $13 million each. Telesport, which acted as an agent in the transaction, will receive another $1 million as a reward.
World Cup in Qatar will pass from November 20 to December 18, 2022. The tournament will be the first winter world championship in history. It will also be the last one in which 32 teams will take part: from 2026, 48 teams will qualify for the World Cup. The Qatari authorities spent a total of about $200 billion on organizing the event.
