RBC: a new air corridor will reduce the flight time for the Russians to the south

From June 12, a second air corridor will be opened in Russia, which will reduce the duration of air travel to the southern regions of the country. This was announced on Thursday, June 8, by sources in two Russian airlines.
According to RBC, the pilots of one of the Russian air carriers have already received notices about changes in the airspace in the south. However, the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) has not yet confirmed this information.
Information has already appeared on the Internet about the upcoming opening of a new air corridor, which will help cut the duration of the flight to the south. In addition, Russian aircraft will not have to return through Kazakhstan, so the route’s capacity will increase.
Earlier, the Federal Air Transport Agency informed about record figures in the number of air passengers – their number reached 22.5 million people, which is the maximum value over the past 15 years. The volume of domestic air transportation in January-April 2023 increased by 15.5% compared to the same period in 2022.
In addition, Russia is working on new air routes to friendly states. In particular, planes began to fly from the airports of Chelyabinsk and Novosibirsk directly to the Chinese city of Sanya.
