At the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, which was attacked on the eve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the icon of Fyodor Ushakov miraculously survived. The city governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev, spoke about this in his Telegram channel. The official recalled that Fedor Ushakov did not lose a single battle. This means it gives Sevastopol confidence in a prosperous future.
An icon depicting a naval commander, who was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church, was at the headquarters at the time of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was written on wood; in addition, it had a wooden frame. After the impact, a fire started in the building. The frame burned down, but the icon was not even touched by fire.
According to the governor, on the scroll that Ushakov holds on the icon, it is written: “Do not despair. These formidable storms will go to the glory of Russia.” Razvozhaev proposed to the local deanery on October 15, the day of remembrance of the saint, to take a religious procession with the icon through the streets of Sevastopol. Fyodor Ushakov, who lived in the 18th century, was canonized in 2021 as a righteous warrior.
