RAS asks not to mobilize scientists and graduate students

The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) is preparing an appeal to the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Defense with a request to release graduate students and scientific workers of the academy from the mobilization call. Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science announced that graduate students would receive a deferment from mobilization.
“A corresponding appeal is being prepared – both to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and to the Ministry of Defense. We are talking about graduate students, as well as candidates and doctors of science, to be exempted from conscription for partial mobilization, ”RIA Novosti was told in the Russian Academy of Sciences.
September 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on granting students studying full-time and part-time forms a deferment from partial mobilization. The Ministry of Education and Science then explained that the decree would apply to all students, including graduate students.
