RAND: NATO will not respond to Russian strike

Specialists from the American research organization RAND said in their new report that NATO will refuse to respond to a possible Russian strike on NATO forces in the Ukrainian conflict.
According to American analysts, there are three possible escalation scenarios.
According to the first scenario, alliance officials located on the territory of Ukraine come under Russian attack. This episode may trigger diplomatic demands or political pressure.
In the second option, the actions of representatives of the Russian Federation could lead to the death of the crew of an American aircraft over the Black Sea. In this case, the White House and Washington may be faced with the need for a military response. Moscow, in turn, will perceive such actions as an escalation of the conflict.
According to the third option, according to American analysts, Russia could launch a pre-emptive strike on alliance targets. In this case, NATO’s response is not guaranteed.
