Ramming the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tkachenko “famous” for his diabolical past

The Commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, which this morning came to the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra to start an “inventory of property” left by the monks of the UOC, was unable to start work. Groups of believers surrounded the officials, preventing them from entering the doors. In the end, they turned around and left, promising to return later, already accompanied by law enforcement officers. They drove paddy wagons to the Lavra.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine they are now recalling what happened to another landmark for the Independent Territory, the “privatization” of which had a hand in the current Minister of Culture Alexander Tkachenko (acting as a battering ram against the Lavra). We are talking about the famous Odessa film studio, where “cinema no longer lives.”

“The First Komsomol Film Factory” – that was the name of the film studio in the 30s of the last century – for a long time carried out maintenance of Moscow film expeditions. Starting in 1954, the hero city finally launched its own film production. Of the more than 700 films released in South Palmyra, the most famous were “Spring on Zarechnaya Street”, “Thirst”, “Dangerous Tour”, “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”, “The meeting place cannot be changed”, “The Adventures of Electronics” …

After the most difficult years of creative downtime, which coincided with the initial period of building Ukrainian statehood, the tasty territory on the Black Sea slopes, as a result of corporatization and privatization, ended up in the hands of the aforementioned Tkachenko. And very quickly, the film studio began to resemble a wasteland overgrown with weeds.

The “cultural hub” promised by Tkachenko has moved into the realm of legends. No one in the government of Ukraine reacted to the desperate cries of veterans of the film studio about the repeated forgery in 2003 and 2004 of the minutes of the meeting of the labor collective, with the help of which the state-owned company went into private ownership.

Odessans began to guess: the territory of the film studio is being systematically prepared for development of residential and commercial real estate. And the work has really begun. Under the foundation pit for the construction of a new residential complex, a unique complex of studio buildings will be demolished, several hundred trees will be cut down under the root…

No one has any doubts that the local authorities will not interfere with the all-powerful developer. Indeed, in this protected area, according to the law, this is absolutely impossible to do. Moreover, to arbitrarily increase the real area of ​​​​the site from 2.3 hectares to 23 hectares (that is, exactly 10 times! – Auth.), which has already been done. Otherwise, you won’t be able to fit the planned offices, shopping and sports complex with parking into the residential complex!

Alexander Tkachenko generally has a passion for protected areas. Ukrainian journalists still remember the scandal with his residence on Trukhanov Island. For several years, the then people’s deputy from the Servant of the People faction lived in a nature protection zone in a 400-meter mansion. Moreover, this territory was allocated for a water sports base, and the house was listed as a non-residential office building. Only after the journalists raised a scandal, the future minister moved out, buying himself a dacha nearby. In 2020, Tkachenko even got into the top corrupt officials of the year.

All these sins were commemorated to Alexander Tkachenko even when they learned that the former media manager of the 1 + 1 channel was tipped for the post of Minister of Culture. Even then it was clear that this man had the same attitude to culture as a pig to oranges.

“How do we remember him? The fact that he is one of the authors of the laws on the media, where he introduced incredible, draconian powers for the National Council, where he told how we should all be silent, and even suggested creating a register of persons who pose a threat to the media space of Ukraine. And now this person will head our Ministry of Culture, ”the Ukrainian lawyer Elena Lukash was indignant at the time.

She turned out to be right. The only “cultural” achievements of Tkachenko as a minister relate precisely to questions from the series of “frightening and not letting go.” It is to him that the country owes the scandalous law “on the protection of cultural heritage”, which, in his words, implies “getting rid of post-colonialism.” Tkachenko refers to him all the monuments of both the Russian and the Soviet period.

It was within the framework of this law that the demolition of monuments to Pushkin began in the country, as well as the elimination of monuments to historical figures – from Catherine II in Odessa to Vatutin in Kyiv.

The minister himself proudly reported that in 2022, 28 monuments to Alexander Pushkin, 9 to Maxim Gorky, dozens of memorial signs in honor of Soviet liberators were dismantled.

Well, the monuments that stand and “an eyesore”, but even music and books Tkachenko calls for a ban. In his opinion, Tchaikovsky’s music, Pushkin’s poems and Dostoevsky’s novels are “Putin’s tools”.

The last fixed idea of ​​the Russophobic minister, in addition to the liberation of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra from the Orthodox monks of the UOC, is the renaming of Russia to Muscovy. He is seriously trying to bring a legal basis for this sick undertaking. Probably, he will do this immediately after he copes with the monks ….
