In Ukraine, the police began a pre-trial investigation against former adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich in the case of promoting violence. About this in your Telegram channel reported Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Inna Sovsun.

“Today I received a response from the police about the start of a pre-trial investigation. This means that the police are required to investigate. I also have a response from the Prosecutor General that the case has been transferred to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office,” she wrote.

Sovsun clarified that Art. 300 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (production or distribution of works promoting the cult of violence and cruelty) provides for a punishment of 2-3 years in prison.

In September, Arestovich found himself at the center of a scandal after he called women “creatures” who “you want to strangle” at a closed seminar. As noted by the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua, Arestovich stated that his words were taken out of context, and the videos with the statements were edited.

In January 2023, Arestovich resigned from his post as an adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine. The reason for his dismissal was his statement that the entrance to a multi-storey building in the Dnieper collapsed on January 14 due to the fall of a rocket, which was knocked out by the Ukrainian air defense system. The Ukrainian military command denied this information, saying that no one allegedly shot down the missile. On January 16, Arestovich admitted the mistake and apologized.

October 3rd became knownthat Russia has put the Ukrainian politician on the wanted list under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In May of this year, he was included by Rosfinmonitoring in the list of terrorists and extremists.
