Citizens are invited to the Moscow stage of the First Element championship. It will be held on March 18 and 19 in pavilion No. 55 at VDNKh.
The time of the event is from 10:00 to 18:00.
As part of the competition, teams of participants aged 11 to 21 will showcase home-made hydrogen fuel cell radio-controlled cars that will have to cover the longest distance during a six-hour race. The winners of the contest will represent the capital at the All-Russian stage. To attend the championship you need pre-registration.
“The regional championship “First Element” has been held in Moscow since 2021. Since then, the number of participants has doubled: this year, 28 teams from educational organizations of the city of Moscow, profile, public organizations, as well as additional education organizations will compete in pavilion No. 55 at VDNKh. We hold such championships in order to acquaint young people with innovative developments and show them unlimited opportunities for development and self-realization.”– said the head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow Alexei Fursin.
All participants of the championship were trained with the support of the resource center for professional navigation and development of competencies of the ANO “Human Capital Development” on the basis of “Technograd”. Each team was allocated 16 hours of training. Future engineers and inventors gained knowledge in the field of energy, electrochemistry, electrical engineering and electronics, as well as acquired practical skills in designing complex energy systems.
The main task of the contest participants is to independently design and manufacture radio-controlled models of a hybrid car on a scale of 1:10 based on a hydrogen fuel cell. Teams must spend exactly six hours on the track and cover the longest distance during that time – the minimum distance for potential winners is 80 kilometers. The participants who show the best results will go to the All-Russian final of the competition in Anapa. It will take place from 11 to 14 April.
Visitors to the championship over 12 years old will be able to take part in master classes at the children’s technoparks Mosgormash and Moskva.
both days guests will have the opportunity to create a three-dimensional model according to the selected sketch using a 3D pen, get acquainted with virtual reality technology, create a photorealistic urban environment on a smartphone and a model of a car or a figurine of their friend using the photogrammetry method. 18th of March there will be master classes on digital sketching on graphic tablets, drone assembly using the Klever-4 quadrocopter as an example, and assembly of a hydrogen engine model. Everyone will be able to conduct an electrolysis reaction to obtain pure hydrogen fuel.
March 19 visitors will be invited to take part in a master class on obtaining nanomaterials with special properties during chemical experiments and learn how to work with the Tinkercad 3D modeling program, which can be used to model the car of the future. In addition, during the event, participants will get acquainted with the possibilities of computer vision, for example, for finding various objects using the device’s camera in real time. On the example of two augmented reality mini-games based on machine vision, it will be possible to feel how artificial intelligence perceives the real world.

For the first time, the First Element Moscow Championship was held in 2021. Then 14 teams, consisting of students from children’s technology parks and metropolitan educational institutions, took part in it. The following year, the number of teams increased to 25 teams. And this year, 28 teams will compete for the right to represent the capital at the All-Russian competition. The event is included in the list of Olympiads and intellectual and creative competitions aimed at developing interest in scientific, engineering and inventive activities, popularizing sports.
