Qugo: income of the self-employed fell by 30% in six months

Payments to the self-employed from customer companies over the past six months have decreased by 30% compared to the same period in 2021, follows from the data of the Qugo platform. In March-August, the self-employed received an average of 33 thousand rubles from orders on the platform, while a year earlier – about 49 thousand rubles. At the same time, the share of earnings of self-employed women increased from 44% to 57%.

The most paid tasks for the last quarter were tasks in the categories: web development, cargo transportation and jurisprudence. The largest payments were received by web developers – an average of about 175 thousand rubles.

In second place is the transportation of goods, on which it was possible to earn about 112 thousand rubles. per person per month. The third place is legal consulting, the average payment for which amounted to 89 thousand rubles.

According to Qugo’s estimates, the number of active professionals on the platform has tripled in a year. Most of the self-employed were in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar. Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod have risen to the top among the regions in six months. The top 10 also includes Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd and Novosibirsk.

Igor Znak, CEO of Qugo, believes that the decline in self-employed income from payments from businesses is “due to the general economic situation.” “Over the year, the number of companies actively working with self-employed people through the Qugo platform has grown 3.6 times. The top 5 self-employed services most popular with customer companies include courier services, cleaning, warehouse services, merchandising and virtual assistant services,” he listed.

In Russia, since 2019, a special tax regime has been in place for the self-employed, under which they can provide paid services, deducting 4% of their income to the budget when working with individuals and 6% when working with companies. According to the Federal Tax Service, by April 2022, the number of self-employed Russians exceeded 4.7 million. Qugo predictedthat by the end of 2024 the number of self-employed in Russia could reach 8 million people.
