Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin’s visit to the funeral of the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, who died in a plane crash on August 23 in the Tver region, is not provided.
“The presence of the President is not provided. We don’t have any information on specific funerals. This is where family and friends decide. We cannot speak here without them,” Dmitry Peskov said during a press call.
The business jet Embraer Legacy 600, owned by the Wagner PMC, crashed on August 23 in the Tver region. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, ten people were on board, including Yevgeny Prigozhin and Wagner PMC commander Dmitry Utkin. On the fact of the plane crash, a criminal case was initiated on violation of the rules for operating the aircraft (Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Officially, the death of all passengers of a business jet Investigative Committee of Russia confirmed August 27th.
