On Monday, January 22, Vladimir Putin’s headquarters submitted signatures in his support to the Central Election Commission for registration in the presidential election.
Activists delivered 95 boxes with signature sheets to the Central Election Commission. Putin became the first self-nominated candidate to submit signatures in his support.
According to the latest data, the head of state scored over 2.5 million signatures out of the required 300 thousand. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin could have collected much more, since “the level of consolidation around the current president is very high.”
Let us remind you that at the moment the Central Election Commission has registered three presidential candidates – Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov And Vladislava Davankovasince they are representatives of parliamentary parties.
For the first time, the Russian presidential elections will be held over three days – from March 15 to 17.
