Putin’s election headquarters will open in Gostiny Dvor – Kommersant

The election headquarters of President Vladimir Putin will be located in Gostiny Dvor. About it RBC said a source familiar with the discussion, as well as an interlocutor close to the Moscow mayor’s office. According to the publication’s sources, the headquarters should open towards the end of December.

Before opening the headquarters, in accordance with the law “On Presidential Elections,” it is necessary to register a group of voters supporting the nomination of a candidate with the Central Election Commission (CEC), open an election account and pay for the rent of the premises.

The Gostiny Dvor complex is located at Ilyinka, 4. It contains 84 thousand sq. m. m of class B office space, an art gallery, restaurants and cafes. The complex belongs to JSC Ilinskoye Podvorye.

Vladimir Putin’s headquarters were located in Gostiny Dvor during the 2018 presidential campaign. At that time it officially included 14 people. This year, the initiative group for the nomination of Vladimir Putin included Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrei Turchak, singer Polina Gagarina, artistic director of the Moscow Tabakov Theater Vladimir Mashkov, President of the Kurchatov Institute Mikhail Kovalchuk, chess player Sergei Karyakin, head physician of Moscow Hospital No. 52 Maryana Lysenko, commander of the Sparta battalion Artem Zhoga.

Vladimir Putin announced his intention to serve a fifth term on December 8 in a conversation with Artem Zhoga after the ceremony of awarding Heroes of Russia in honor of Heroes of the Fatherland Day. On December 16, a group of voters (an expanded initiative group) will gather in Zaryadye to nominate Vladimir Putin.

For the first time, voting in the presidential election will take place over three days, from March 15 to 17.
